HISTORY + MORE
Lorena is an only child to two pure-blood parents. Her father, James Scott, is English, while her mother, Elena Scott, is Salvadorian. They both met in Hogwarts and were basically school sweet hearts. After graduating, they got married and had Lorena shortly after, who quickly became their pride and joy.
When Lorena was born, she was quickly held up to a high standard. Her parents already had a future planned out for her and pictured exactly what they wanted from her. In addition, her parents repeatedly taught her about how important her blood status was. She wanted to believe her parents and she tried to desperately think similarly, but she couldn't. So, when she was around five years of age, she met a person who eventually became her first friend ever; her precious childhood friend. Lorena learned that this person wasn't a pure-blood and she desperately wanted to shun them away, but she grew too attached. She had just clicked right away with her new friend and she felt accepted. She felt like she could be herself around this person, so she continued to see them and befriend them.
Lorena's parents eventually found out about her non pure-blood friend and immediately forbid her from seeing them again. She was truly heartbroken, yet she was conflicted. On one hand, she wanted to see her friend and continue their friendship, but on the other hand, she wanted to make her parents proud. She wanted to be the daughter they always wanted and desired. So, because of this, Lorena learned to have two different versions of herself: the Lorena her parents wanted her to be and the True Lorena.
Shortly after her 11th birthday, Lorena received her Hogwarts' letter. Her parents were ecstatic and were already planning out her future at Hogwarts as a proud Slytherin and a pure-blood. This caused instant panic within Lorena. She knew a lot of the families her family associated with had children around Lorena's age who were going or were already attending Hogwarts. So, Lorena knew she had to be cautious and continue to keep both versions of herself ready for whatever situation. Of course she knew she was going to go into Hogwarts with some "friends" she was already acquainted with, but she also wanted to make some real friends who would accept her for her.
So, from her first year to the present, Lorena learned how and when to be each different version of herself. When she was with her fellow house mates and family friends, she became her parents' version of Lorena, but around other people--who she had to discover if she really trusted them or not--she was her real self, who was accepting, kind, empathetic, and caring.
RP SAMPLE
Lorena wasn't alone in her home, but she felt like she was. Her parents were currently having someone over for tea and she was told to go upstairs to her room and occupy herself. That was not new to her. Her parents often had people over and she was always told to do the same thing each time: greet the guest or guests politely and respectfully then go upstairs and stay out of the way. If she was lucky, the guest(s) in her home would bring their child and they would be able to play with Lorena, but even that was unfulfilling, since the other child usually tended to be everything Lorena wasn't, causing them to not click at all.
Today, there was no other kid to keep Lorena company, so she was all alone in her huge bedroom. She had no idea what to do with herself, since her room mostly consisted of books that her parents forced her to read about magic. Do to Lorena only being seven years old, the books that occupied her room weren't complicated to understand, but nonetheless, they were still just as boring, causing Lorena to quickly grow bored in her room.
Lorena let out a sigh, decided that she could probably pass some time by getting some sleep. She went to lay face first into her pillow, but her plans for a short nap were ruined once she felt something pointy and something round. She raised an eyebrow before feeling around her pillow for the textured source. She eventually found the objects in question in her pillow case and quickly pulled them out, only to realize it was not only a small, bouncy ball, but some jacks as well. They were a gift from her only true friend, who was not pure-blood like herself. Lorena remembered that it was a muggle game that muggle children played, based on what her friend told her. Her friend even told her the name of the game:
"Jacks..." She mumbled lowly as she observed the objects in her hand. Her friend briefly taught her how to play, and she was even told that this game could be played with one player.
Deciding to play, Lorena looked around her room to make sure no one was around before placing the jacks down on the floor. From there, she threw the bouncy ball on the floor, grabbed one jack, and caught the ball before it hit the ground again. Lorena smiled softly, proud of her achievement, but decided to challenge herself more. She repeated the cycle, but instead grabbed an extra jack, and continue to add more and more jacks as she went on with the game.
Lorena giggled, enjoying her time playing by herself. However, her good time was shortly ruined when her mother walked into her room to see Lorena playing Jacks.
"Lorena Angela Scott!" Her mother, Elena, gasped. "What are you doing!?"
Lorena's body froze as her mother caught her red-handed. She didn't know what to say or do to justify or hide what her mother just saw.
"Mother, I was-" Lorena's explanation was cut short, for her mother snatched the jacks and ball away from Lorena.
"This is beneath you, Lorena." Elena scolded, glaring at her daughter. "Do you have any idea what you were even doing?"
"Mom, I was just playing-" Lorena tried to explain, but she was interrupted once again.
"Hush, Lorena, I don't even want to hear it." Elena stated before walking back to Lorena's door. "We will discuss this later and I hope you use this time to reflect on your behavior."
And with that, Lorena's mother closed the door and left her by herself once again. Lorena frowned as she climbed into her bed and hugged a pillow to her chest, trying to stop the threatening tears from spilling. All she wanted was to have some fun and not have to worry about acting a certain way. She just wanted to be a kid and enjoy her life as such. Instead, she felt like a caged bird whose wings had been cut off.
Lorena hugged her pillow tighter, wondering how long she would be her parents' caged bird.
